Growth, Accreditation and Sustainable Innovation in 2025 – Our Vision for 2026
Continuous Professional Development
The diverse knowledge and experience of our team has always been a strength and last year we continued to make the professional development of our people a priority. We kicked off 2025 with one of our sustainability consultants passing the retrofit coordinator qualification course. Creating opportunities for our team to deepen their knowledge and progress their career benefits both them and our clients.
Operational Waste Management Plans
We enhanced our services for clients in the spring by adding Operational Waste Management Plans to our consultancy. These plans are an important part of design requirements and meeting regulatory policies. Our team are now able to give clients guidance for recycling, storing, collecting, and disposing waste quickly and efficiently to ensure projects met ambitious targets.
Membership of the USGBC
This year we also became members of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC). Joining a network of professionals and organisations committed to sustainable development was a key step forward for our sustainability practice. USGBC is best known for creating the LEED accreditation which along with our WELL accredited professionals, BREEAM assessors and CIBSE low carbon consultancy, strengthens our offering to our clients.
Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 19650
Another massive achievement for Cudd Bentley was gaining our ISO 9001 and ISO 19650 certification for QMS and BIM. These are recognisable accreditations that give our clients increased assurance of the expertise they need for their projects.
Delivering BREEAM V7
In September, our sustainability team consulted with our clients on current and future projects affected by the BREEAM New Construction V7 and what it would mean for them. We have always communicated regulatory and framework changes for our clients to ensure they understand the impact for them on their projects. Presenting changes and updates in a format that makes sense is a continuing part of our collaborative practice into 2026.
Adaptation to Climate Change Strategy
In the autumn, we added the Adaptation to Climate Change Strategy as another service for our clients. We consult with clients on hazard identification and risk evaluation utilising this methodology. This enhances our offering to our clients delivering fully compliant climate change adaptation strategies with recommendations and solutions, in an easy-to-understand format with a clear road map.
Conferences and networking opportunities
We ensured throughout 2025 that our engineers took part in various conferences such as the Elmhurst National Conference and networking events throughout the year. These spaces are a chance to interact with other industry leading practitioners to share ideas and discuss future developments in sustainable engineering consultancy.
Award nominations
Awards recognise superior practice in consultancy and the work of our team. At the Unlock Net Zero awards in June, CBC we were nominated in the Project Innovation of the Year category, for our low carbon development work and at The Revo’s in December, we were shortlisted in the Best Asset Management Initiative category for our work supporting The Chimes, Uxbridge.
This year we have another award nomination and ceremony to look forward to as on 5th March 2026, we will be at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards in the “Embodied Carbon – Services and Project: For Consultants” category.
What’s Ahead for 2026
As we move into 2026, several notable projects are already in progress, including our continued work at the prestigious Savoy Hotel. Our team of engineering consultants are also maintaining exceptional delivery on projects that began last year, such as TOCA, Paris, and the Westbury Hotel.
