The Q3 Academy, Walsall

A new build project to replace the current Dartmouth High School in Walsall. Allowing the school to offer a more widely varied curriculum and to enhance the pupil’s learning experience. The project forms part of the national building schools for the future program.

 

M&E Services

To monitor the complete M&E services design, installation, commissioning and subsequent handover to the client. The role includes monitoring and reporting on quality, specification and regulation compliance.  To assist in processing client instructions, client changes and management of RFIs to members of the client’s design team.

The following services were provided:

  • Full mechanical ventilation and conditioned fresh air systems
  • LPHW heating via radiators with underfloor heating within the atrium
  • Gas pipework to science labs
  • High-level gas-fired radiant heaters, within the sports hall
  • Domestic services (hot and cold), hot water provided by direct gas-fired hot water generators, trace heated single pipe system
  • DX cooling serving, high heat gain areas
  • Extract ventilation to toilets & kitchens
  • Above-ground drainage, with chemical-resistant plastic used within science labs
  • Lighting and associated controls
  • Small Power
  • Fire Alarm/Class Change systems
  • Data/Communications/Public Address System
  • Security/CCTV/Access control
  • Lightning Protection
