Cudd Bentley Consulting carried out the BREEAM In-Use assessment for the office building at Circus Street, a landmark mixed-use regeneration scheme in Brighton.

 

Delivered as a partnership between U+I, Brighton & Hove City Council and the University of Brighton, Circus Street has transformed a former municipal market site into a vibrant new neighbourhood comprising homes, student accommodation, workspace, retail and cultural space.

 

The wider scheme achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ at new construction stage, reflecting its strong sustainability credentials across energy, materials and design.

 

Building on this, the office element was later assessed under BREEAM In-Use, achieving an ‘Excellent’ rating, recognising its operational performance and ongoing environmental management.

 

Our involvement focused specifically on this in-use certification, supporting the building’s transition from design intent to real-world performance.
