LEED Accredited membership of the USBGC

Home » News » LEED Accredited membership of the USBGC

Our team of mechanical, electrical and sustainability engineers / consultants strive to deliver exceptional project outcomes for our clients through the continual development of our practice. One of the ways we achieve this is by utilising recognised methodologies and when possible, going beyond these accreditations for our clients. We also share best practices with others in the industry through institutes and organisations that allow us to network with other engineers and have therefore become members of the USGBC.

What is the USGBC

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) was established in 1993 as a nonprofit organization with a membership base. Its mission is to promote sustainability in the design, construction, and operation of buildings. USGBC is best known for creating the LEED accreditation, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. USGBC is dedicated to creating a healthier and more sustainable world by transforming the built environment. Membership means joining a network of professionals and organisations who are committed to sustainable development and are working together to shape the future of green building.

USGBC provides a global platform for expanding businesses and advancing cutting-edge building practices. With more than 4,000 member organisations, Cudd Bentley joins a network of sustainability leaders, practitioners, and decision-makers. This allows us to connect, collaborate, learn, and grow professionally alongside other USGBC members.

Our exceptional sustainability team has achieved silver-level LEED certification, demonstrating a commitment to advanced sustainable practices beyond the foundational measures. This level includes enhanced energy management systems, water efficiency strategies, and sustainable building materials.

Sustainability is a focal point for all Cudd Bentley engineering services.

Addressing sustainability issues associated with new requirements is an intrinsic part of our environmentally conscious engineering services.

The Cudd Bentley Consulting (CBC) Sustainability Team consists of a variety of qualified Engineers and Environmental Consultants with a broad range of backgrounds. This includes:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Sustainability Engineers
  • Renewable Energy
  • Social Science
  • Architects
  • Civil Engineers

The CBC Sustainability Team consists of CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants, CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessors, Domestic Energy Assessors, BREEAM Assessors and Accredited Professionals. We also have in-house WELL and LEED-accredited professionals to help our clients achieve successful project ratings and outcomes.

This broad range of knowledge and qualification allows the CBC Sustainability Team to produce sustainability documentation for planning submissions that are tailored to the individual requirements of the development. This experience ensures National and Local Policy compliance is demonstrated with clarity and any client-specific sustainability aspirations are met.

Achieving sustainability goals in the built environment

The continual rise of global energy prices and the UK Government’s commitments to climate change have resulted in revisions to the UK Building Regulations at a national level and changes to evolving local planning policies. Dealing with the sustainability issues associated with these requirements now forms an intrinsic part of engineering services in the built-up environment.

The Cudd Bentley Sustainability team closely integrates with our clients’ engineering design team through all phases of a project, to ensure that planning objectives are delivered via commercially and technically viable solutions.
