With significant residential and commercial developments in the north of England, CBC took the strategic step last year to establish an office to collaborate closely with our teams in London and Ascot. Positioning the team in Manchester provided excellent connectivity to key northern cities, allowing us to deliver more responsive, on-the-ground support to our clients and keep projects on track. 

Cudd Bentley’s Manchester office is led by Charlie Barrett and Tom O’Gara, who together bring a wealth of mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to the region.

The Manchester team at Cudd Bentley specialises in providing high-quality mechanical, electrical, public health and sustainability services across a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare, research, education, commercial, and complex mixed-use developments.

Charlie Barrett – Senior Mechanical Engineer

Charlie, who joined Cudd Bentley in 2025, heads up the Manchester office from a mechanical engineering perspective. With over 10 years of experience in project management and delivery across the Northwest, Charlie has worked with leading firms such as Laing O’Rourke and Dalkia EDF Group.

With a proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale projects under strict technical and time constraints, Charlie’s success is built on strong foundations of knowledge, communication, coordination and technical leadership

• The Paterson Redevelopment at The Christie in Manchester. 
• The Clatterbridge Cancer Care Centre in Liverpool.

Tom O’Gara – Senior Electrical Engineer

Tom, who also joined Cudd Bentley in 2025, leads the Electrical Engineering department in Manchester. With over a decade of experience as a design consultant — including roles at Foreman Roberts and Atelier Ten — Tom brings strong technical expertise from RIBA Stage 2 (Concept Design) through to Stage 5 (Construction). His portfolio spans multiple sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, and education.
